Lynn Weekley Volunteer Scholarship

Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the 2022 open application for the Lynn Weekley Volunteer College Scholarship. Eligible scholarship applicants are college-bound high school seniors that reside in a Gwinnett/Walton Habitat Home and/or either a Habitat Club Member or a graduating senior who has served at least 50 volunteer hours with us and have a clear dedication to volunteerism and a commitment to academic excellence.

The Lynn Weekley Volunteer College Scholarship is named after our first paid volunteer coordinator that served our affiliate faithfully for 20 years. The recipients will embody Mrs. Weekley’s dedication to volunteerism and will have exhibited actions in keeping with the mission of Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity.

The scholarship comes from earmarked donations and from a portion of general donation given to the affiliate. The scholarship fund receives NO general home-building donations.

The Homeowner Support Committee will choose award recipients each school-year. The affiliate will endeavor to present the scholarship award at the school’s Awards Assembly or similar gathering, in cooperation with school staff.

A student may apply for consideration by filling out an application online (see below links) or print and complete and mail to the Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity Office. The deadline for submitting an application is April 1, 2022.
