Home Build Construction Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers assist with all stages of home construction, including; framing, hanging drywall, painting, and landscaping. Individuals do not need to have construction experience/skills just a heart for service and the ability to take direction. Volunteers are supervised by Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity Construction Manager, House Leaders, and Crew Leaders. Build Days are on Saturdays from 8:30am – 2:30pm.

*Dates flexible upon sponsor request

A Crew Leader helps out on Saturday build days by working with the House Leader to help manage our Saturday volunteers. Crew leaders will lead a small group of volunteers on a build day task, by instructing the volunteers how to perform the task and overseeing them, ensuring the volunteers stay on task, get the job done correctly, and that the volunteer learns and enjoys what they are doing. Individuals interested in this position should be semi-skilled in construction tasks and have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity before.

During a build, a group of skilled volunteers serve on Thursdays from 8:30am-2:30pm and help keep the home build on schedule. Thursday Crew may help to prep the build site for Saturday volunteers, fix something that was done incorrectly by volunteers, or perform more skilled build activities Saturday volunteers may not be able to do.

If you are interested in volunteering in both Gwinnett and Walton, please complete the volunteer interest form for both counties.
