Join a Habitat tradition and make a difference in the lives of our partner families by creating a message of hope, encouragement, or inspiration on their new home. For a donation of $100, you can sponsor a stud (2x4 piece of wood) that will help build a Habitat home. Constructing a Habitat home takes over 300 studs, so every donation counts!
Stud sponsorships are open to everyone – individuals, businesses, groups, organizations, and schools – and are eligible for a tax deduction. As a sponsor, you can pick up the stud(s) and decorate them however you like (with a few exceptions). Whether you want to showcase your company logo, draw a picture, or write a heartfelt message to the family, you have the power to infuse a home with hope.
Choose the number of studs you'd like to sponsor – from 1 for $100 to 300 for $30,000 – and decide if you'd like to support the program on a regular basis. For instance, you can sponsor one stud every month for $100 each month. When you sponsor studs, you'll be invited to an exclusive preview party where you can see where your stud(s) ended up in the framework of the home. You don't have to sign any or all of your studs, but having a stud to sign is a benefit of sponsorship.
Studs are available for pick-up at our office at 52 Gwinnett Drive in Lawrenceville. For larger orders, we can arrange pick-up or delivery for your convenience. Your sponsorship will help a local family build their forever home, and you'll get to leave your joyful mark!
How to Sponsor a Stud
1. Sponsor a Stud:
- Choose the number of studs you'd like to sponsor.
- Make a donation of $100 per stud to support the Habitat home construction.
- Contact Jan at 770-931-8080 or email sponsorship@habitatgwinnett.org to initiate the sponsorship process.
2. Decorate the Stud:
- Pick up the stud(s) at our office at 52 Gwinnett Drive.
- Let your creativity shine! Decorate the stud with your company logo, artwork, or a heartfelt message.
- Please note any guidelines or exceptions provided.
3. Return it to Us (or We'll Pick It Up):
- After decorating the stud, return it to our office at 52 Gwinnett Drive.
- Alternatively, contact us to arrange a pick-up or delivery for larger orders.
A Habitat Tradition
At Habitat for Humanity, we have a heartwarming tradition that allows you to leave a lasting mark on the homes we build: signing the home studs. It's a meaningful gesture that signifies your support and connection to the families who will call these houses their homes.

Not interested in a workday? We can come to you!
Host a lunch and learn or teambuilding activity at your office and members of the Gwinnett/Walton Habitat Team will visit to share more about our mission. Your team can leave messages of hope or even your company logo on your studs to be incorporated into an upcoming build. Your team will be invited to the dedication of the home.
For larger orders, team building and lunch and learns, we can arrange pick-up or delivery for your convenience.
