Blessings continue for Grace with Warrick Dunn

This week, Grace and her family were recipients of the Warrick Dunn Charities Homes for the Holidays program. Through this program, they furnish homes of single-parent families, such as Grace. Grace has faced many struggles since moving to Georgia, but her faith kept her strong and determined. Her main focus has always been providing for her children and giving them a safe, stable and secure home.

Grace recently celebrated her Gwinnett Habitat home dedication and has been busy planning their move into their new home. She was under the impression she would be spending the morning being interviewed for a media story, but instead was greeted by Warrick Dunn. She told her story and shared her thankfulness when Dunn then presented her with a $5,000 check to go toward her down payment. Next, Grace was invited to step inside her home with her children. As Grace opened the door to her new home, she saw it had been completely furnished. While her children ran from room to room, excited to see what was behind each closed door, Grace took a moment to breathe. “We didn’t expect this. Wow! I am speechless.” Everything was included, from furniture, electronics, and appliances, to bedding, food, and tools.

Grace and her children continued to celebrate as they closed on their home the following day and were able to immediately move in. Special thanks to sponsors Ryan D. Jumonville and Aaron’s Inc. for making this all possible.

Since 1997, Warrick Dunn Charities has focused on providing programs and services for single parents who are committed to achieving stability for their families. Homes for the Holidays, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates, and others, is a way for Warrick Dunn to extend his mother’s dream to other single parents working towards first-time homeownership.
